My name ist Ben Rennen, I'm an artist/illustrator/photographer from Hamburg, Germany.
I currently study illustration at the HAW Hamburg.
I've done visualisation and artworks for a range of clients like Playoo, Moonbyte Games, Faun, Farelia Records...
Over the years, i have aquired different illustration techniques - yet i still love to experiment -, often employing a combination of digital and manual work, such as ink, fineliners, markers, colored pencils, acrylic paint, vector-graphics for games or e.g. photoshop and illustrator.
Since a few years, i discovered an ambition for professional photographer, too. Mostly taken pictures of gothic/dark/alternative models and music bands like the progressive Rock Band DANTE.
I love the works of Mike Mignola, Ashley Woods, James Jean, Mucha, Andrew Wyeth, Chris Bachalo, Heinrich Kley, Matt Bush, Leif Jones, Juanjo Guarnido and many more.
I owe even more inspiration to such sources as comic books, role-playing games, movies, music and all kinds of more personal experience and dreams.
Other stuff I like include retro and mmo game culture, poems, asia-food & pasta, toys from the 80ies, mediaeval times, css and xhtml codes.
